FRANCE

“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” – Susan Sontag

France means Paris for most people, but the country has so many sides and different characters seen through its various regions. France, rather Paris, had to grow on me. It took me some time to appreciate the rush of the city and to peal back the layers of history, art, and some of the best cuisine in the world to realize how much I enjoy the city.

I love history, art, and architecture and France offers all of that. Spending several hours in the Louvre or visiting the Normandy WWII battle field is right up my alley. However, for those who prefer a more diverse vacation, France offers that too. Rocky beaches, beautiful ski resorts and vineyards for wine and champagne in many regions of the country…okay Champagne houses are only in the Provence of Champagne, and beautiful landscape throughout the country draw millions of people to France for vacation each year.

I love food and French cuisine is some of my favorite on the planet. More than two dozen Michelin Star restaurants have a home in France, but you do not have to empty your pockets to have a good food experience. My sweet tooth is more than satisfied in France as I generally spend the day eating the best almond pastries, macaroons, crepes and meringue.
